SPARC SYSTEMS DONATES TO CANC€R DISEASES HOSPITAL

Sparc System Limited Zambia has donated five wheelchairs and five benches to the Canc€r Diseases Hospital (CDH) to support patients and improve comfort in the waiting areas. The company also donated 70 hampers containing basic essentials for patients admitted to the Breast Cancer Ward and the Cervical Canc€r Ward as part of its activities to mark Cancer Awareness Month.

Speaking during the handover, Sparc System Zambia Country Director, Annmarie Morin, said the gesture reflects the company’s commitment not only to providing IT solutions but also to enhancing community well-being.

“We believe that corporate responsibility extends beyond technology — into supporting health, wellness, and mental well-being,” she said. “Cancer is not an easy journey, and every bit of help, no matter how small, can make a difference. Through this gesture, we hope to bring comfort and relief to patients, their guardians, and everyone at the Cancer Diseases Hospital.”

Ms. Morin added that Sparc Systems recognizes the importance of supporting Zambia’s only cancer hospital and remains committed to contributing to the health and welfare of the nation.

Receiving the donation, the Cancer Diseases Hospital Acting Chief Nursing Dr Nsama Mumba expressed gratitude to Sparc Systems for its timely support. “It is very gratifying to see the corporate world joining hands with us to care for our brothers and sisters battling cancer,” the official said. “This journey is not easy, but with every helping hand, we make it a little lighter for our patients. The wheelchairs, benches, and hampers will go a long way in improving the comfort and care of those admitted here.”

Dr Mumba further noted that the Cancer Diseases Hospital is Zambia’s first and only government run cancer treatment centre, serves patients from across the country, embodying the spirit of One Zambia, One Nation.

Dr Mumba says Construction of a second cancer hospital in Ndola is currently underway to further expand access to specialized cancer care.
